evie chevalier grew up in the suburbs of new york , until the age of fifteen , when her parents divorced , and her mother opted to live in the city ( brooklyn to be precise ) .growing up , she loved writing , she loved speaking to people — journalism seemed the only route . her biggest influence for wanting to go into sports journalism , was her grandfather && father —— both of whom played for the french national rugby team —— growing up , they would watch sports together , and they would commentate on the sport .she graduated from northwestern with a bachelors of journalism , with a minor in sports journalism . during her time , she interned with espn ; this is where she fell in love with sports and reporting sideline .evie became a sports journalist to escape life —— when she steps into her role , and interviews , she’s a different person . it’s like a fake persona . but the travelling is the biggest perk — she moves so often , so she doesn’t get bored , and when things get real , she’ll take a trip somewhere to write about it , hoping that when she comes back , things have blown over , and that she doesn’t have to face the consequences of real feelings .
